Hello,
My name is Carlos Ramalhão and I'm a Programmer.
I have recently finished an M.Sc in Interactive Entertainment Technology (Computer Science), where I had a chance to interact with industry and research professionals. This provided me with the opportunity to conduct research and development for real-time applications
in fields such as Mathematics, Graphics, Physics, Animation, Artificial Intelligence and Computer Vision. As dissertation research to the M.Sc. I worked in the field of Computer Graphics, namely in the real-time rendering for painterly stylizations of volume information.
While finishing the mentioned M.Sc. I was hired by PopCap Dublin as a Software Engineer in the Mobile Engineering department, title which I hold to date.
Before venturing to Ireland, I had finished a B.Sc. in Engenharia Informatica (Informatics Engineering - Computer Science and Engineering) at ISEP, Porto (Portugal) and a 2 year period working at Spellcaster Studios (which I greatly appreciate and miss all my friends over at Setubal). I still seek further knowledge, specially in the fields of Computer Graphics and High Performance programming.

Similarly, I'm always interested in challenging projects and/or work on small garage games on my free time.
As you may notice from the material available in this portfolio, my work so far involved mostly programming, namely Tools, Gameplay, Engine and Graphics.
Although I have experience in many domains of computer science the area of greatest interest to me has been Graphics & Games Programming, where most of my knowledge is self-taught.
One sentence remains constant through all iterations of this section, I love programming, computer graphics and games development. Working in such challenging areas and seeing my work come to life is certainly one of the greatest pleasures I could ask for.
